Wednesday was windy & rainy.
The forecast for the rest of the week was high winds and waves getting worse Thursday & Friday.
We decided to leave Put in Bay & head back to Cleveland.
Although not too bad when we left the Bay (about 15-20 knot winds & waves 3-5 feet)the weather quickly worsened.
A squall line moved in (not forecasted) and winds were upwards of 30 knots, gusting higher at times.
Wave we 6-8 feet.
We had hoped to get to Vermilion or Lorain for the night, but because of the conditions we got as far as Huron.
Although the weather improved Thursday, the wind & waves didn't subside until Friday night, so we headed back to Cleveland on Saturday.
A wave sequence coming over the breakwall at the Huron Lighthouse on Thursday 8/5.![]() | ![]() |
